An Irishman walks into a bar and promptly orders 3 Guinness. He sits down, drinks them, pays his tab, and heads home. He repeats this ritual several more nights, until finally the bartender’s curiosity gets the best of him: “Why do you come in here every night and order 3 Guinness at the same time?” “Well,” said the Irishman, “my two brothers have gone off to war. Before they left, we made a pact that every night at 9pm, wherever we are, and whomever we are with, we’d make it a point to share a pint together, and to have a drink in each other’s honor.” The bartender was touched. This went on for awhile until one night, the man came in and solemnly ordered only 2 beers. The bartender was overcome with emotion. As he brought the 2 beers to the man’s table he said: “I am so sorry for your loss”. “Oh, my brothers are fine” he said, “I just quit drinking”.
