Anyone have a good site that she can use to find freebies? Andy Does her phone only accept MIDI? You can check USENET for Ringtones. I found a zip once with about 200 of them. -Gel My college-bound daughter just bought a new phone and is trying to find midi ring-tone files that she can download to her PC, then upload via Verizon's site. We are going to embed it in a message. I've never used Usenet. How would I figure this out? Andy Does her phone only accept MIDI? You can check USENET for Ringtones. You can also go up on flashkit.com and check out the sound loops, some of those make excellent ringtones. -Gel Gel, We don't know. Polyphonic? I would like to change it if possible -- but not enough to pay. Go to vzwpic.com create "picture" with only audio attached and send it to your phone. Audio file type will need to be compatible with your phone. Midi ring tones are probably safest. When you receive the "message" on your phone, save on the audio. You can then assign this audio to your ringer. Cost: 0 versus $4.00 if you buy through Verizon site. Andy At 12:30 8/29/2004 -0500, you wrote: >Thanks. I'd appreciate that. I would like to change it if possible -- but not enough to pay. am i missing something (an all too common occurrence)? i don't see anyplace to 'create "picture"' at that link (yes, i too would like to add ringtones without paying thru the nose. hell, i don't mind paying...but if i can download a cd quality mp3 for $0.99 from the iTunes store, I shouldn't be paying 3x more than that for a midi...IMO, of course) :) ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Create option. Doesn't actually create a picture. Lets you combine a picture, text and audio into a single message that you can send to yourself or someone else. Getting fowarded to dp.imformation.com Please help the stupid, namely me. I sent myself a midi ringtone. I got a txt message stating I had something in my inbox. I went there and I can't seem to change it to my ringtone though. I went through the stupid tutorial too. If you go to save it, you will be given 3 options (this is my daughters phone, so I can't walk through it as I write this. Sorry). Save Text, Picture or Audio. Save the Audio. Then you can select the saved audio as a ring tone. However, these instructions may be phone specific. Since I don't have the phone, I also can't tell you which one it is except that it is a Samsung, maybe 6700, picture phone that is only sold by Verizon. Andy Please help the stupid, namely me. I have a Mot t70 (i think). I see no options to save anywhere on the phone. Probably for the best as I have a feeling that "fun" ringtones would not be welcomed at my work place.
