Anybody have a second?
If you've got a second could you hit a few pages at www.firstnight.org and ** Private ** 10/24/04 12:47 P Used a Mac (OSX10.3) with the latest Camino and all pages worked fine. ** Private ** 10/24/04 09:13 P If you've got a second could you hit a few pages at www.firstnight.org and drop me a line with the results? For me, at least, the front page comes up normally, mostly, but any following page begins to download then hangs before anything of value is displayed. This is a new behavior (all of this has been working for a while) and there has been very little development on the site. Since the problem roughly coincides with my installation of a new firewall (I switched from Norton to McAfee) I'm wondering if it could be a problem just on my side. I'm using Windows XP SP2 (with all updates), IE and McAfee Internet Security. Thanks in advance. All pages work. It took a very long time before the "Bulletins" section was rendered, and in the mean time the browser kept spinning. I presume there was some element (background image) that took a long time to load. Jochem Thanks all. I've not really taken a good look at the bulletins code (I didn't author it) but it looks like I'll have to. There is a background image used, but I'm not sure it's actually needed (or that it couldn't be shrunken down some). I'm still unable to navigate the site at all from my main work station and still have no idea why. But I now can browse around in a virtual PC at least - that'll have to do until I can figure out what's up. Jim Davis Took 3 tries to get the front page to load correctly. The first two times the Bulletins region was messed up. No pictures, Very narrow. No styled text. Etc. The interior pages all loaded fine, but they seemed to take a while. Like there was no caching going on. -Kevin ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Works perfectly in IE 6.0... Loads fast as well. That probably is part of the slowdown. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----
