Fusebox / Frameworks Conference
Hi All, I've been invited to speak at the FB/Frameworks conference in late September. I'm excited. It will be my first conference both attending and as a speaker. I just bought my plane tickets today. I'm curious to know who else will be going? s. isaac dealey 954.522.6080 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm Clearly there are too many of us awake at this time of night ;-). I wish I could go, it should be a good conference. Stuff like this makes me almost wish I still lived in DC. I'm sure a bunch of the DC crowd will be there. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Hehe, Just walked in the door :) Tim ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- I'm sure I will be there. Tim ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Unfortunately not this year. The powers that be won't pay for the conference and its a bit much for me to cover. larry ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- >I've been invited to speak at the FB/Frameworks conference in late >September. I wish I could be there to hear you speak (and to finally meet you after chatting online for so long). Unfortunately, timing and budget make it impossible for me to attend this year's Fusebox conference. I'm still on my sabbatical at that point and will be on the road driving to Salt Lake City that Friday (so even if I had budget, I would still have to miss the last day of the conference). It looks like a fantastic line up and I'd strongly urge folks to attend if they can manage it. The conference will cover all the major frameworks in CF as well as some lesser-known ones and stuff like Spring (Maxim's talk on integrating CF and Java using Spring ought to be worth the ticket price alone!). The last two years' conferences have been great, even tho' they only covered one framework (Fusebox - and even then non-Fusebox CFers would still have gotten value out of the tips and tricks and networking!). As for budget, since lots of people ask me, I work in IT as part of Macromedia's Web Team and I have budget to attend about two conferences a year: one on the West Coast and one on the East Coast. I chose SD West and CFUNITED this year. Without SD West, I'd have had budget to attend the frameworks conference (even tho' it's East Coast, the conference itself is a bargain). However, SD West was more applicable to my broader role as an architect and in particular to the enterprise integration work I've been focused on for the last two years so it won out. Sorry. If I lived up in the Washington area, I'd probably pay out of my own pocket to attend but the airfare and hotel costs make that prohibitive. Hope y'all have a great time! Sean >>I've been invited to speak at the FB/Frameworks conference ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Thanks Sean. :) > I wish I could be there to hear you speak (and to finally > meet you after chatting online for so long). > Unfortunately, timing and budget make it impossible for me > to attend this year's Fusebox conference. Well that's 50% of the conference... :P Now if it'd been the last hour of the conference, I'd have said that was ironic, as my presentation's been piped into that last timeslot on Friday. :) Iirc it's still possible they could change me to another timeslot if someone else has an issue and they need to move people around -- I told them I wasn't particular about the scheduling, so I'll go wherever they need me. :) > It looks like a fantastic line up and I'd strongly urge > folks to attend if they can manage it. Yep, that's one I was hoping to see. s. isaac dealey 954.522.6080 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm Please forgive the repost -- the weekend was wierd... :) Anybody else going to the Fusebox / Frameworks conference asside from Tim and myself?
