I've been trying out the IntelliJ IDEA with CFML plugin and it's not bad. With CFBuilder crashing on a regular basis on a specific template name (security.cfc), an alternative is needed. I could go to cfeclipse or I can try something new. New won out. Problem is, the IntelliJ projects are very different than what I'm used to in homesite, eclipse, etc. If the differences are worth working through and the feature set is good, I may move over to IntelliJ. We'll see. Now if only I could get in touch with someone over there who is in charge of the cfml plugin project.

I used it for awhile maybe 6 months ago, but had a showstopper issue and stopped. I suspect they have that fixed by now. Mostly it was great, I am just impatient. It's definitely fast and seems better/snappier than many of the Eclipse based solutions out there. I plan to give it another shot sometime in the near future. I suspect it will win out above CFBuilder and CFEclipse on my system before too long. There's a Google group that has some CF names you'd recognize on it, and the primary author of the plugin is active on the list as well: http://groups.google.com/group/cfml-plugin-for-intellij-idea -Cameron On Tue, Apr 10, 2012 at 12:48 PM, Michael Dinowitz < mdinowit@houseoffusion.com> wrote: ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- -- Cameron Childress -- p:   678.637.5072 im: cameroncf facebook <http://www.facebook.com/cameroncf>; | twitter<http://twitter.com/cameronc>; | google+ <https://profiles.google.com/u/0/117829379451708140985>;

Yes, the traffic on the list tends to go up and down. I had a problem of some sort with SVN over HTTPS.  I think it was a problem with the underlying SVN plugin that they bundled with it.  All our code is SVN over HTTPS so it pretty much stopped me dead in my tracks.  I would be surprised if something like that hasn't been addressed yet. I also had a small issue trying to create new key mappings. Overall though - it was a very fast IDE and pretty nice. -Cameron ...

So, I can't find the CFML plugin in the plugin viewer and the PHP plugin (that was last updated on 4/4/2012) cannot be enabled. So far, not impressed with IDEA ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----

It's still pretty experimental and hasn't yet reached it's full potential. This is part of why I stopped using it.  I like it, but don't have the patience to work with it yet.... I must have downloaded the wrong version of IDEA. From what I have read CFML Support plugin should be bundled with IDEA, but I am not seeing it anywhere in the plugins folder. On Tue, Apr 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM, Camer ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----

I installed the ultimate version and it had the CF plugin already there. These are a few links I've saved in my notes when I downloaded it. I have not looked at the tv one yet. I was trying out Sublime Text 2 today and it is quite speedy. However, I hit a wall trying to edit XML files. Apparently, there is no code hinting/completion with XML files, even when you specify a DTD at the top. Why is it that every IDE/Editor has a 'feature' (or lack thereof) that keep it from being the 'Holy Grail' of IDEs/Editors? Because we've never been able to settle the VI vs Emacs holy wars. Until that conflict is settled, all else is trivial battles. Judah > > Why is it that every IDE/Editor has a 'feature' (or lack thereof) that > keep it from being the 'Holy Grail' of IDEs/Editors?

TortoiseSVN and CFbuilder seem to work just fine.

I find that the subversion plugin works quite fine with CFBuilder 2. Much easier than going outside the IDE to committ your changes.
