What actions can you really take to go off the grid and still have a life though? ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- well, I turn off the GPS in my phone just for funsies, though I'm easy enough to find in other ways if somebody really wants to and it's more likely to be a problem for me --say if I had to call 911 -- than anyone else. But I've seen one too many DEFCON presentations and I figure why make it easy for the bastards. If we stop caring about privacy we'll stop having any. I have a link about that someone else sent me, will send it though in a minute. By the way I think that seignorage thing was about minting money not usury, will try to look that up too while I am multitasking here.... ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1qDYSCONyg&sns=em note, in some dense urban environments gps is not necessary for tracking location.... that's the code apple was trying to patent. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- A lot of phones use tower triangulation instead of GPS...or give you an option to use a combo of the 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1qDYSCONyg&sns=em note, in some dense urban environments gps is not necessary for tracking location.... that's the code apple was trying to patent. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- here.... ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- yeah but that's the technology that's becoming obsolete and is mandated for phase-out because of the 911 aspects. The article I linked to where I was talking about this has a graphic that shows the difference, which is something like, the cell tower will put you at a shopping center (say) and maybe pinpoint that you are at Home Depot. GPS shows you at Home Depot, and probably in what aisle ;) The scary stuff is where it knows where you are even if your GPS is off. I wasfocused on the next sentence where you talked about usury -- isn't that lending at exhorbitant interest? I think that part's wrong, but assuming I understand what it is now -- not a given, cause it's late, my source on this is wikipedia and I am tired -- it's what happens when the government gets money because the currency depreciates, so it's a tax kinda and it has to do with issuing money, so we are both sorta right, there.... and frankly you're doing a big-picture scan of the document so I doubt any of your readers want to know more than that it's a tax that has to do with currency. So I guess my final answer is that you're right on the tax part, but if usury comes into it I am not seeing how. Whether figuring that out is worth the headache it would give you -- or me, at least, if I tried it, which I won't ;) -- is up to you, lol. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----
