I can apply a custom style sheet over gmails style sheet which will give me what I want. Remove some of the bothersom borders, shrink some button text, etc. We're creators and innovators. If something is not to our liking we should just modify it ourselves. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----

I felt the same way the first week they rolled it out on my accounts. I was not a happy camper at all.  I ended up, like Maureen, setting it into Compact mode and that helped ease the pain a bit.  It's grown on me over time to the point where frankly, I don't recall the old interface or why I initially preferred it.  For me it's the same story between Homesite+ and CF Builder.  After using Homesite+ for, gosh, a decade or so, CF Builder felt evil and wrong and not at all in line with my workflow.  Over time it too grew on me to the point where I only use Homesite+ where I must and CF Builder is now my default go-to tool of choice, just as the new Google Mail interface is for my various e-mail boxes.  Give it some time to get used to.  I can say with certainty that I prefer it over anything else I've been forced to use over the years. -Justin

Eric If anything would make me quit using gmail, the new UI is it. The fact that I can't get the old UI or something as efficient is a pain. Judith feels the same and from what I hear there are a LOT of others who agree with us. What moron at Google decided to force this on us. Do they think that they've gotten so big that people will just take it. I wonder who will take advantage of all the negative sentiment that Google is generating.
