Verizon's wireless site sucks
if you want unlimited everything for one price you should look into some of ** Private ** 05/14/12 03:01 A Try selecting the plan first Mike. I wanted to select a family plan from Verizon and just refuses to give me the option. Maybe it's not available in my zip code. Maybe I chose the wrong phone. Whatever it is, I can't view what a family plan will look like so Verizon is off my list. And why do I have to get an expensive data plan with a smartphone? I just want to call somewhere and maybe text. They have calls and texting as separate items to be paid for. I don't want to pay any more than that. This is where Sprint especially sucks. They require you to have both a data plan and a premium data add on. Why both? Just to gouge more money from their customers? This is why I'm still on an old blackberry which burns my ear if I talk on it too long. if you want unlimited everything for one price you should look into some of the prepaid carriers. Metro PCS or Boost. I doubt they have family plans but you know what, family plans are over-rated. I had one with T-Mobile where I supposedly had unlimited everything on all phones for some price -- forget what it was now -- and the bill was like $150 more every single month. I never did get them to tell me why that was either and finally just told them to piss off. On Boost mobile my phone bill is what my phone bill is supposed to be, every time. Now that I have solved your problem <g> -- somebody wants me to write up how you become a telecommunications carrier, and suggestions on where to find that out?? I never had a problem with their site back when I was a customer. It could be that it isn't available, but you are in NY, right? I can't imagine that they don't have family plans there. I had a family plan with them and that included data service with 2 droids and a regular phone. If you have a smartphone...any carrier will require that you have a data plan. I don't know of any carrier that will let you get a smartphone without a dataplan. Even Cricket requires a data plan. We did part on their site and part we called and actually got better offers by calling them.
