Author: J.J. Merrick Short Link: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/thread.cfm/threadid:34483#350700 Larry, I use VirtualBox for the PHIS SQL server instance that I have running. It is free and a stolen copy of XP (I have no shame stealing 13 year old software) running SQL Express 2008. It has a Port Forwarding feature that allows you to do NAT to the VM and setup virtual port forwards. I just forwarded 1433/1434 TCP/UDP and then set the datasources to be 127.0.0.1 port 1433. Works like a charm! -J.J. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----

Author: Larry C. Lyons Short Link: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/thread.cfm/threadid:34483#350694 Hi, have a question for al the mac people. I'm setting up a new Mac (a personal one this time) and am trying to get the database and the data source names setup. So far the CF part is done (builder, CF9 etc.). However one question I do have, can you run SQL Server in a VMWare instance, and have CF access a database on that instance via a DSN? many thanks, larry -- Larry C.
