I use Handbrake. http://handbrake.fr/details.php Free, works with VOB files, should support most of the file formats you need. Mac and Windows. Cheers, Judah ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- I'll second handbrake. Can't live without it. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Handbrake is ok - considering it's price - free. I use a variety of applications - depending on the need. If you want to pay - you can get a really app called DVD Fab. They have a free version also - but output will contain a watermark. Since I developed / edit / etc videos for clients... it looks better if the watermark is my own. I'll second handbrake. Can't live without it. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Okie dokie! Thanks guys! Handbrake here I come. Again. I think I tried that a year or so ago for something else but got confused. I'll let y'all know how I do. Pierre - if I decide to pay I'll look into that one. Thanks! Also, if you need to get directly from a dvd and need to bypass copy protection (which Handbrake does not do) you can use DVD43 (on Windows). ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- So you are ripping a disk. You won't be able to get those files onto the net. They are much too big. Why not rip it to WMV or even better MP4 format. WMV will get you better quality - but MP4 is better with size. OK. I don't care if I have to cut it into pieces. But first it needs to be in a format I can manipulate then get on YouTube, even if it's Part 1 of X. YouTube is required for spreading the video. It doesn't matter what the quality is. It's just people talking. We don't need HD. :) On Tue, May 29, 2012 at 8:44 PM, Pierre Demester <pierre@demester.com>wrote: ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Handbrake worked beautifully!
