FULL TIME ColdFusion Developer - University of Illinois / ChampaignThe University of Illinois (Go Illini!) is seeking an experienced ColdFusion Developer for a FULL TIME opportunity. The successful candidate will server as a Sr. System and Application Developer and will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of applications and systems. The position serves as a leader in the creation of development methodologies and standards, the analysis of current processes and making innovative recommendations in the constant evolution of the department's systems and applications. The team lead will provide oversight and direction to ensure client specifications are met and assigns projects to staff and directs the prioritization of that work. RESPONSIBILITIES - 1. Prioritizes and tracks new projects, maintenance enhancements, and fixes. Assigns and coordinates team members work efforts. Reports status of work efforts to department Director. Provides overall day-to-day team oversight. 2. Designs and develops application and systems based on identified requirements using industry best practices and within the department and University enterprise frameworks. 3. Provides regular ongoing maintenance and support for the department's applications. Activities may include installing software upgrades; implementing fixes and enhancements; executing production runs; backing up and restoring procedures; administering security/access protocols; etc. 4. Monitors department's application development and system architecture including production servers, database and software. 5. Develops, documents, implements, and maintains department development methodologies, standards and system administration. 6. Provides work estimates and timeline for projects. Works with implementation support team as needed to finalize test plans, requirements, and production schedules. 7. Liaises with various technology areas to monitor the emergence of enterprise solutions, maintain existing dependencies and identify potential shared services. 8. Obtains and maintains a working knowledge of development and test environments used by the department and the University. 9. Cultivates an understanding of University enterprise systems and their relationships and integration points with department systems and applications. 10. Pursue professional development activities to expand knowledge and maintain currency. QUALIFICATIONS - 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Management, or related field - required. 2. 3-5 years experience in web application development using ColdFusion or other web development language 3. Knowledge of object oriented programming and relational database concepts (preferably Oracle) 4. Experience with Web Services and SOAP technologies; understanding of XML including schemas (XSD) and transformation (XSLT) logic; N-Tier architecture development; web infrastructure and security services; enterprise application integration using third-party systems and middleware tools - all desirable.
