ColdFusion Application Developer (Washington, DC, area)

OVERVIEW: Altarum is looking for an intermediate or senior-level Systems Developer to design, develop, and maintain sophisticate web-based software applications using multi-tier architectures that include web, application and database components. The position primarily supports an Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) project using ColdFusion 8 and Oracle 11i. Candidates should have experience in information systems development, functional and data requirements analysis, systems analysis and design, programming, program design, and documentation requirements and preparation. QUALIFICATIONS: * Candidates must have strong design and development experience with ColdFusion MX or higher, enterprise-level databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), and JavaScript. *Additional skills with DHTML (Dynamic HTML), AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are highly desirable. * Experience with database performance tuning and application security is a plus, as is database administration and data warehousing. * Familiarity with software engineering, software lifecycle management, and configuration management as well as software development methodologies and best practices is also expected. * Must be able to obtain a security clearance (must be a sole US citizen). * A senior information engineer should have an advanced degree in either a scientific field or an MBA/medical management degree and at least eight years experience in the information systems field. Alternate qualifications: (a) a Ph.D. may be substituted for two years experience, or (b) or a bachelor’s degree, in a related field, and at least 10 years experience in the information systems field. * An intermediate information engineer should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or analytical field and at least four years of experience. Alternate Credentials: Master’s degree or 10 years of engineering related experience.
