We seek VB . Net developers with a knack for CF and experienced in MS SQL Server
2005. An all around programmer, developer, generalist in web-enabled
applications. VB . Net is a must. Dba experience in MS SQL Server and Oracle
greatly appreciated. Java/J2EE exposure a bonus.

Mid-Level Java Developer
This position is located in Rosslyn, VA.
OVERVIEW
Under this project, the developer will join a team of 150 IT professionals that
include Java development and Web administration. This position supports the
Federal Government in the rapid application development of Java/Oracle based
multi-tier applications for worldwide use. The developer will be involved in a
variety of development initiatives through their entire lifecycle. In conjunction
with the client, we have established an environment of technology and process
growth for the benefit of the application users and project personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Developer will accomplish development and maintenance tasks for multiple
development initiatives for this customer. This position is responsible for
application development in primarily a Java and Oracle PL/SQL environment. Other
languages supported include; .Net, ColdFusion, JavaScript, Delphi, VB and XML.
The candidate must be able to deliver IT solutions that are Section 508
compliant. The developer will be involved in the full development life cycle
including requirements, analysis, design, development, and deployment planning.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Developing level of effort estimates and aiding in project schedule creation.
• Design and coding of application interfaces.
• Tracking and reporting the status of projects.
• Working as a member of a team.
• Administrative scripting using SQL and PL/SQL.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/BA degree in Computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance
• Five to seven years IT experience.
• Two to four years experience in Java development.
• Two years experience with Microsoft .Net and/or ColdFusion development.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate
• Experience with the full software-development life cycle using an object
oriented design methodology.
• Experience with revision control system such as Subversion, CVS, RCS or
Microsoft Visual SourceSafe
• Experience with bug reporting systems such as Jira, or Bugzilla.
• Understanding of the Oracle architecture as it applies to application
development.
• Logical database design using relational database normalization process.
• Design and implement physical database design including primary/foreign key
structure.
• Development of structured query language (SQL), triggers, and stored
procedures (PL/SQL)
• Understanding of Object-Relational Concepts.
• Experience in developing, managing, and deploying web-based applications
using HTML, JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
• Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
• Effective at working on small teams and ability to think logically and
independently.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Familiar with data modeling to describe business processes, activities,
information flows, and use-cases.
• Experience with business process management tools such as Metastorm BPM
• Experience with Reactor, Hibernate or other ORM tool.
• Experience with ColdFusion and/or .Net frameworks such as Fusebox,
Model-Glue, nHibernate.
• Experience with re-factoring legacy applications and unit testing concepts
and methods.
• Development of multi-tier, web-enabled applications.
• Experience implementing AJAX functionality.
• Experience with working with XML, XSLT, XPATH
• Design and implementation experience with Oracle databases.
• Development of triggers and stored procedures using Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience in integrating LDAP.
• Database security - authentication, auditing, and discretionary access.
• Experience with SOAP/XML data services.
• Experience with UML.
• Ability to use and extend an integrated development environment (IDE) such as
Eclipse and associated toolsets for use in Java development.
• Experience with Ant and command line driven automatic Java build concepts.
