Temp to Perm ColdFusion Developer Opening (Washington, DC)

Currently we have a long term Coldfusion Developer opportunity with a non-profit
organization located in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC (Metro accessible).
The position is temporary with the option to convert to permanent employment
after 6 months. Once you become a permanent employee you will receive their full
benefits package including: 3 weeks paid vacation, 8% 403b matching, full health,
dental, vision & life insurance and $5,000 per year to put towards any area of
study that you choose. This is a long term opportunity with room for advancement.
More about the Position:
Essential Functions:
· Prepare software requirements specifications for translation into
structured application programs with the necessary interfaces into other systems
or across platforms
· Research, analyze and propose program-specific business rules used in
system development. Help formulate /define system scope and objectives.
· Design systems test requirements to ensure fail-safe integration of
programs into a production system.
· Prepare and manage system documentation
· Develop prototype screens to help communicate system requirements and
design evolution with all interested parties.
· Contribute to system development efforts by designing and developing
selected portions of the system according to specifications.
· Help prepare Requests for Proposals for external contractors as part of
software development process.
· Collaborate with other staff to ensure customer needs are met, and
delivers high quality customer service
· Collaborate with division staff on ideas for enhancements to software
· Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelorâ?Ts degree in computer science, information systems, engineering,
business, or related scientific or technical discipline required (may be waived
with strong practical experience)
· Minimum of 5 to 8 years of IT.
· 4 to 5 years of Cold Fusion development experience.
· Requires experience with Cold Fusion version 5 and MX as well as upgrade
from version 5 to MX.
· Technical knowledge of all phases of application system analysis and
development
· Experience with Oracle DBMS , SQL, PL/SQL, and application design
utilizing Oracle technology desired.
· Knowledge of Java technologies is a plus
· Good Documenting skills
· Demonstrated experience developing and supporting applications systems is
required
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary and Benefits:
The end salary (after conversion to full time employee) is going to be $90k plus
benefits that together total to about $115k a year. The breakdown is as follows:
8% 403b matching ===> $7200
$5K toward any area of study per year
3 weeks of vacation ====> equivalent of $5100
Health and Dental benefits ====> $5000
Paid Holidays ======> equivalent of $3000
Basically the compensation is equivalent of $25,300 (benefits) + $90,000 (salary)
= $115,300. Please also keep in mind that this is a long term opportunity with a
lot of room for advancement and raises in the future.
