Webmaster/Systems Administrator- USAF Weather Systems

PRIMARY FUNCTION(S): Black Box Technology, Inc in Pensacola,FL is seeking
qualified individuals capable of providing systems administration, engineering
and website development and maintenance, for Air Force Weather (AFW) standard
information systems at Operational Weather Squadrons (OWS) located on
Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona and at the Weather Schoolhouse (335 RSS/UOA) located
on Keesler AFB, Mississippi. Weather systems support includes the development
and maintenance of websites essential to the dissemination of weather information
to Air Force, Army, Guard, Reserve, and other supported forces. Examples of the
AFW standard information systems include the local area network, the OWS
Production System II (OPS-II), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration Portal (NOAAPort), the Open Principal User Processor Operation
(OPUP), the Weather Product Management Distribution Systems (WPMDS), the Watches,
Warning, and Advisories Management System (WWAMS), and associated databases and
Air Force Weather Weapons Systems hardware/software.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1) Support the fielding and operation of standard hardware and software systems
for organizational administration and for forecasting, displaying, and
disseminating weather information.
2) Assist in the planning, installation, testing upgrades, maintenance, and
upgrade of local area networks and the AFWWS.
3) Perform investigations, analysis and design reviews to guide the development,
integration, and implementation of weather analysis and forecasting systems.
4) Trouble-shoot system deficiencies, correct system problems, and provide
non-routine configuration changes as necessitated by changes in the OWS operation
requirements, communications interruption, or changes in the processing
environment. 5) Develop and maintain OWS websites and associated data bases.
6) Assist other systems personnel assigned to the OWS in providing computer
systems support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Six years demonstrated experience providing systems administration,
engineering and/or web programming and maintenance activities.
2) Demonstrated knowledge evaluating software and hardware, including peripheral,
output, and telecommunications equipment, enforcing security procedures, and
troubleshooting complex problems.
3) Knowledge with employing ColdFusion to dynamically build web pages based on
large databases.
4) Four years Systems Administration/Engineering experience with Operating
Systems and Services: Solaris 5, LINUX Red Hat, Microsoft Server 2003, Web Server
IIS 6.0, Cold Fusion MX 7.
5) Four years Computer Hardware experience: Sun Servers, Dell Servers, Dell Blade
Servers.
6) Four years Database Management Systems experience: Oracle, MS Access.
7) Four years web programming and development software: Cold Fusion, SQL, Java
Script, HTML. 8) (Highly Desired) Familiar with Weather Product Management
Distribution Systems (WPMDS), Watches, Warning, and Advisories Management System
(WWAMS), OWS Production System II (OPS-II), and Open Principal User Processor
Operation (OPUP).
