Hi, I went through this one:  http://wordpress.org/support/topic/306878 I went through all of this, and still will not work. I deleted all MySQL and I guess I will have to figure out how to compile mysql! I don't get it Leopard was easy! Download install the package, install the start up script, and no worries, I was up and running in about 10 minutes. I have been trying to figure this out since yesterday. I would get rid of MySQL all together, but I did a db server for ColdFusion that also work on my host. This has turned into a nightmare. Thanks so much for all your help, I really appreciated it very much. I have never been so stressed out trying to get something working like this. It seems to me, that MySQL (64 bit version) does install, but then you can't get it to run, and the MySQL preference pane does not work as well. I did install the 64 bit, but the preference pane thinks that it is the 32 bit version. Thanks again, and sorry for ranting, John
