I am running CF4.5.2 on a Solaris platform. Sure. First, CF 5 typically runs better on Solaris than CF 4.5.1 SP2, so you might simply upgrade. I don't have any experience with CF MX on Solaris, but that might be better still. Second, you might try to determine why CF is core dumping. This is typically a little more difficult. There could be many reasons for this. I'll assume that you're seeing this during peak usage periods; if so, you might look at your CF and web server logs to determine which specific pages, if any, are causing problems. You might also enable the "log slow pages" option in the CF Administrator to help with this. You might also look at components used by CF, such as your database drivers; I've seen many situations where the specific versions of database drivers were causing serious problems. For example, if you're using Oracle, you might find out your specific driver version, then check the Oracle Technet site to see whether there are any known bugs with that version, or if there's a newer version. Third, you might direct your question where you're likely to find more assistance. This isn't a developers' list, but rather one for Macromedia partners, and focuses on business questions more than technical questions. Instead, you might try the cf-talk and cf-linux lists, also hosted by houseoffusion.com, or you might check out the Macromedia forums (http://webforums.macromedia.com/). If you do use the forums, before you post your question, you might search for similar questions - I've occasionally found my answers by doing that. Finally, you'll need to provide much more information than you have, for anyone to be able to determine your specific problem. Darryl S. Layne CTO ExecuNet, Inc. (800)637-3126 x129 www.execunet.com I don't know if you're running in distributed mode but here's something that took us a while to find... CFDIST was crashing under load (core dump), it seems it was eating all the File Descriptor (64) available. We bumped this up to 128 FD under an OS parameter. Another issue was client variables. We had left the default setting of "registry". Once that flat file hits 8mb the cfserver continuously crashes. Stace I am putting together some more details, thanks.
