Am trying to figure out how to take info in a DB and insert into Quickbooks. Honestly - last I checked it Quickbooks didn't support calls on the database file from external sources. Did they come out with some new Web based tools? Or are you searching to see if it is possible. One of the options available I believe you can schedule a Quickbooks import to be timed. So you export your data from your database - to a txt type file - then have QB pick it up. Isaac Dealey Certified Advanced ColdFusion Developer www.turnkey.to 954-776-0046 I did this a few months ago. go to quickbooks.com and look for their import/export forum. you can dump the DB files to IIF (their import ASCII files) and use QB to import them there. When I dealt with there exported lists - they are tab formatted. Also taht I am aware of Quick Books is not an ODBC compliant database which does make it a bit of a hassle. - As for importing though- they take tab and csv files - But it is just that I am not sure if you can schedule quickbooks to import a file on a schedule - I do know you can have them automatically exported though with the scheduling features. jay S. In any event -- as far as QuickBooks goes, you're already beyond my level of exposure. :) Isaac ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- There is an API for Quickbooks - in theory you can generate the IIF file (which we've done) and then write an extension for the software that automatically grabs the file and imports it (which we haven't).
