We are currently using cf studio 4.5 and are looking to move onto an IDE that has better integration with CFMX's new features (i.e. components, cfcs, etc...)   Although we really like coding with cf studio, Macromedia is making a huge mistake by no longer offereing / updating this IDE.  It does not tie into CF's cool new stuff, and we would really benefit from that.   We have downloaded the demo for Dreamweaver 2004 and were not impressed.  It is slow, bloated with WYSIWYG stuff and does not do what we need (dispite the cfcomponents listing under the application tab).   Are there other IDE's that people are using?

We use HomeSite+ that ships with Dreamweaver MX on the CD. Its basically CF Studio without all the old access violations and with all the CFMX support we need :) Paul

We use PrimalScript http://www.sapien.com/primalscript.aspx It's a great IDE with lots of features and supports 30+ languages (has great AS2 support).   The developer is also looking for CF-specific features to add to the next version since an increased number of people have been buying it to develop CF.  Feature requests can be sent to support@sapien.com (tell them Sam sent ya so he can yell at me if he gets too many e-mails to handle). Here's a review on using it to code CFML: http://www.kodefusion.com/article/index.cfm?PrimalScript_3&ArticleID=15&Page Number=1 Best regards, Sam ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----

----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- Only problem is that I can't seem to get your plugin to work on the latest M9 build. I was interested in taking your plugin for a spin, and while the plugin is recognized by Eclipse, nothing happens (literally) when I go to open a file. Opening a file in Eclipse that does *not* map to your plugin (i.e., *.txt files) works just fine. Have you tested your plugin with the latest stable bits? Regards, Dave.

Works for me. You do however have to create a project and open the cfml pages from their. You can't do a file open. Their working on getting that bug fixed. > Only problem is that I can't seem to get your plugin to work on the latest > M9 build. That bug reminds of the the initial DWMX release where you had to define a Site before you could do anything. So annoying!! Thanks again. Regards, Dave.

My eclipse install is at D:\Eclipse, so therefore my plugin is at D:\eclipse\plugins\com.rohanclan.cfml_1.1.8 That's all there is to it. Regards, Dave.

I am also told, however, that M9 is a bit less stable then M8. Someone else posted that you have to make a project before you can open a .cfm file and that is true. You are right that this is probally not the best place to continue, but there is a cfeclipse users list if you would like to ask question / post bugs etc. Instruction on how to do so are on Nathan site too I believe. It pretty active (not as active as cf-talk mind you). Anyway it goes thanks for checking it out Dave.
