I'm getting this error when a complex query is run. It has multiple inner joins and is returning potentially thousands of records with about 60 columns each. ------- The request has exceeded the allowable time limit Tag: cfoutput The error occurred on line 111. ------- Is it timing out when retrieving the data? Or is it when trying to output the data? We're using CFMX 6.1 with mySQL 4.0.17. It's a legacy application that hasn't been touched in several years. But lately the client says she has been getting these errors. The problem is that the app wasn't really written to scale well. We're looking at setting up a paging system for her instead of trying to display all of the info at once. Anyone have any wisdom on this though? <!----------------//------ andy matthews web developer certified advanced coldfusion programmer ICGLink, Inc. andy@icglink.com 615.370.1530 x737 --------------//--------->

The template is running past the time allowed in the CF Admin. It could be either the DB or the post DB processing time. Anyway, you can increase the time available to the template with a cfsetting tag. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more ----- -- CFAJAX docs and other useful articles: http://jr-holmes.coldfusionjournal.com/

James... Do you have an example of using cfsetting in this way? <!----------------//------ andy matthews web developer certified advanced coldfusion programmer ICGLink, Inc. andy@icglink.com 615.370.1530 x737 --------------//---------> cfoutput The template is running past the time allowed in the CF Admin. Just put this at the top of your page: <cfsetting requesttimeout="3600"> Set the time to be whatever you want in seconds. Andy Matthews wrote: ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----
