How can the workspace be out of sync? I thought my workspace was c:\inetpub\wwwroot\foldername? I'm using CFB on Win2k3 used as both a workstation and Dev server. Is there a way to use CFB without using its "workspace" - whatever that is? Second part: My code base is weird and could be described like Main project c:\inetpub\wwwroot\foldername\subfolder1 Related project c:\inetpub\wwwroot\foldername-except-subfolder1 (I did not set it up this way, just inherited it, and there's no way it's getting redone any time soon.) So far I have not been able to get CFB to understand this and it either begins to pull in files I do not want or misses files that should be in each project. I've been using Crimson Editor, which is very handy and very fast, and still fall back to it when I cannot get CFB to do something or when CFB is being slow.  CFB has been very hard for me to get used to. Basically, I don't care if CFB creates the file or it comes from someplace else, I want it to fall into the "project" based on presence in the directory, not manually, and if CFB is keeping a separate copy of the code someplace, I need to make it stop doing that.

Sean, CFBuilder is an Eclipse based product.  There are some things you need to know about Eclipse. A 'Workspace' is where CFBuilder stores information about your current configuration settings, project settings, plugins and more.  This is also the default location for projects. You can create projects inside or out side the 'Workspace' path.  CFBuilder can have multiple 'Workspaces' and you can switch between them. Each can be configured differently for different tasks, projects or server settings etc. There is no separate copy of the code being created, it just has reference data in the 'workspace' that needs to be updated when you are editing files outside of CFBuilder. If a workspace is out of Sync - this usually means one or more files in the project were updated outside of CFBuilder. All you should have to do is right click on the project and select 'Refresh'. I would also recommend you go visit Eclipse.org and watch some of the Eclipse training videos to help yourself understand Eclipse and Eclipse based products. This was really beneficial to me when I first started using them. Wil Genovese One man with courage makes a majority. -Andrew Jackson A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well. Another trick is to set your workspace to refresh automatically (not a good idea if you have thousands of files or a slow hard drive). You can find the setting in Preferences -> General -> Workspace -> Refresh automatically Hope that helps. Steve, I had forgotten about that setting. I never used it due to having HUGE projects and slow computers. But now I have a new shiny fast computer. Time to try that setting again. Thanks for the responses.   So it appears, then, that maybe on a per-project basis it is possible (required?) to specify the workspace, and that there is an option for auto-updating.   Hopefully, there's a place to specify filtering out sub-directories.  If and when I find it, I'll post in this forum.
