Simple data submit example

I am finally interacting with my ColdFusion component and can retrieve simple strings. How do I submit data to the ColdFusion component from the Flex interface? Google is only providing me with simple examples of getting data which I got, or very complex examples. I just want a simple start kit that I can build from. Thank You Ian
