To answer one of your questions, onSubmit can call functions defined
anywhere in the page, as long as the browser has processed them (so they
exist). The only danger would be that a user might hit the submit button
immediately, before the page had been fully processed, but I think as long
as the function was defined above the submit button, that wouldn't be a
I don't know of a way to get a list all the functions on the page, though
there may be one. In a case like this you generally have to use some strict
naming convention, very specific to what you're doing, in hope that you
won't step on some other function defined on the page. Maybe prefix all
function/object names with your initials or something.
