What do you all think about the presentation, "Best Practices for Integrating CFCs, Flex and Fusebox"?  Anyone tried his model? http://www.webapper.net/index.cfm/2007/2/20/My-Other-Frameworks-Presentation-Best-Practices-for-Integrating-CFCs-Flex-and-Fusebox Seems like the MVC model in fusebox is heavily downplayed (only View is used?). Does it mean Fusebox is getting outdated in the age of CFC's? I'm starting on a new framework. Is Fusebox still the way to go?  Should I look elsewhere? Thank you!

Not sure why you think that at all. Maybe you're not understanding what Nat is advocating? > Does it mean Fusebox is getting outdated in the age of CFC's? Not at all. Fusebox 5.5 is in Alpha right now with a Beta by the end of the month. Amongst other things, it will allow you to write your circuits as either XML or CFCs. > I'm starting on a new framework. Keep us posted when you're ready to release it as open source (Apache Source License 2.0 is a good license). > Is Fusebox still the way to go?  Should I look elsewhere? That's like asking "Should I paint my house green?" - you haven't given us any information about your team, your experience, the sort of apps you're building or anything. How can we possibly tell you which framework will work best for you? FWIW, my team is building a social networking application with Fusebox, ColdSpring and Transfer so the core is OO and we've integrated the CFCs from Ray Camden's Galleon app, although we've reskinned most of the front of it as a Fusebox 5 application. We're finding Fusebox a good front end for a CFC-based application - after all, the CFCs are only the model portion, so we have full MVC Fusebox with the Model circuit calling the CFCs. -- Sean A Corfield -- (904) 302-SEAN An Architect's View -- http://corfield.org/ "If you're not annoying somebody, you're not really alive." -- Margaret Atwood

With out wishing to offend, it sounds like maybe you've not grasped FB for all it can be.  There are lots of great frameworks out there and before building your own, may I suggest that you delve a little deeper into the ones that are around and see if any suit?  If one is close to what you're after maybe you can contribute to that  project?  That said, i'm always excited to see new frameworks, so as Sean said, keep us posted. ----- Excess quoted text cut - see Original Post for more -----
