status update

The truth is we over promised and under delivered. We originally set a deadline for releasing a beta at CFUN-04 only to learn we didn't have enough time to make it. We did release the beta, but then we got stuck in a long hard road of bug fixing and responding to customer demand. We couldn't keep up. We put a lot of work into He3 in anticipation of a second beta only to learn that we had an architecture that wouldn't scale. As such, we decided not to release a second beta or any additional updates to He3 until which time we had a scalable architecture. Now it is 2005 and we still haven't provided any updates. However, He3 remains strong. We continue to have hundreds of people using our product as their default IDE (based on update stats). People continue to inquire about the status of the project and wish us well. There is no doubt that CFEclipse is the de facto Eclipse-based IDE for CFers, but people continue to request He3 nevertheless. To this end, we are working to secure a partnership with an established commercial software vendor to help us bring He3 to market in a polished form. Quite simply, there will be no future releases of He3 until we can ensure that it is a proper replacement for ColdFusion Studio/Homesite. -Matt > It has been a very long time now since the last update.
