Author: Judith Dinowitz Short Link: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/nycfug/thread.cfm/threadid:802#2336 We've got a big treat happening next week! On Tuesday, March 21st, at 6:30 PM, Peter Bell, a speaker at the cf.Objective() conference, will be talking to us about Object Oriented Programming and Application Generators. The meeting will also have pizza, thanks to Epicenter Technology Consulting, our sponsor this month. Please RSVP on our site (Http://www.nycfug.org) to let us know you're coming. The description given for this presentation is: Application generators are good for much more than CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete). And with Active generators, you can maintain everything from your DAOs (Data Access Objects) and business logic to your display layer, making changes in one place in the metabase -- not in multiple places in the code base. Let Peter Bell teach you more about the practicalities of writing an active application generator and how Object Oriented best practices change when 95% of the code becomes just another artifact. Code examples will be included. In addition, Michael and I will be giving our thoughts on cf.Objective(), the conference that we just attended in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 11 - 12. I hope to see you at the meeting! Judith Dinowitz Co-manager New York ColdFusion User Group (http://www.nycfug.org)
