SEO at CFUnited> > What do you mean by referral domain and in what stats? I've turned off all > server based stats and work only with analytics and sitemaps. I don't see > anything showing a refer of fusion authority for any of my redirects. We use smarterstats. I'm going to need to dig into the stats to really find out what causes that. I'm almost 100% positive it's the script I posted before but I need to look at the logs. I'll get back w/ ya'll on that. Doing the 301 at the IIS level might be what should be done here, at least for log statistics. The SEO department sees this as ok on the Search engine side, that's all that matters in the long run. We track hits internally for our clients so it's more of a what you see in the graph type of thing. I can see your point in switching to analytics, tying into the adsence / adwords stuff is interesting. I guarantee you will see a drop in everything across the board though from log statistics so that's another item to look at I guess. While the stats may go down, they are consistent. Takes a couple of years to see the trends are the same yet lower then what you were seeing before. Well worth the volume setbacks when you think about the other features analytics and omniture have to offer among the others in that arena. Omniture.com is the shit, it's not free but I'd take those reports over analytics any day! You can track some serious shit with there matrix report scripts. |
